On a warm Sunday afternoon, Jenny, Con and Grammy decided to go out in search of a new interesting spot to visit. Alsea Falls is northwest of Eugene, a pleasant drive through farm country, secluded valleys and forest. In the deep forest, wild foxgloves were still at their peak. |

The campground and picnic areas feature broad, level paths beside a creek, with the salmonberries Jenny likes scattered along the way. |

Alsea is a relatively short falls, a cascade of water over a stair-step spill of ancient lava. But it's a pretty place on a warm afternoon. |

Con explores with a stick. If there's a stick available anywhere, Con will noticed it... and pick it up. |
| On the way home, we stop to admire the roadside display of foxgloves once more. |
