Cade's and Con's World:
Along the River Bike Path

Shoot Date:
August-October 2008

Con and Grammy Susan hit the bike trail from time to time for a trek along the river... usually with a little duck feeding included.  The river is just a mile away, at the end of our street.  There are nicely maintained bike paths on both sides of the river, and five bike & pedestrian bridges that cross the river at different points, making for convenient--and safe--riding, with no speeding cars to spoil the experience.

Our most frequent stop is a pond about half a mile north.  Ducks and geese gather there (and nest there in the spring.) People regularly stop by with food offerings, as we do.  In the trees on the far side of the pond, you can hear peacocks screeching high in the tall trees.

Below the bike bridge, ducks gather in anticipation of the bread we've brought.  Unfortunately for them, Con likes to pick out one tiny piece at a time, and if it looks particularly appealing, he eats it himself.

Con leaves the bread bag to take a closer look at a mallard pair that have come up the embankment hoping for a better chance at getting some bread scraps.
