	 | Picture the peaceful, idyllic backyard: green lawn, shade trees, deck, laundry line... and a trebuchet. What's up with this piece of medieval siege equipment, you say?? |
| We'd bought a bundle of lath to help hold and position the bamboo barrier in the trench. Afterward, there was a lot of lath left over, and Ben and Paul decided they just had to make a little something they'd always dreamed about. This is its first incarnation. Unfortunately, the projectiles only flew a little more than ten feet. | |
| | With the original stone weight swapped out for a 12-pound barbell and the adjustments fine-tuned, Ben and Cade set up the trebuchet for a launch. |
| Aaand... thar she goes! And a good launch it was, too. The stone flew about 50 feet, nearly all the way to the end of the lawn as seen in the picture above. | |
