Autumn along Highway 36

Shoot Date: 11-02-2007

A view of the docks at Triangle Lake.  There are picnic tables here, too, making it a perfect spot to enjoy any lunch you've brought along.  Very peaceful and quiet.

This interesting community church building on the shore of Triangle Lake reminded me a bit of weathered Russian wooden churches.  According to the minister's wife, who happened by and greeted us, the church was built for the community by the local lumber industry.  If you look carefully, you can see two big logs that serve as pillars in front of the entry just below the steeple.

Hazy sunlight shines on fields and fall-colored hills.

I had to stop and take a picture of this round barn along the way, a local landmark.

North Fork of the Siuslaw River, which widens as it approaches Mapleton on its way to the Pacific Ocean.
