Sahalie Falls

Shoot Date: 8-12-2006

Like a planter inadvertently set in a rushing stream, a rock provides a convenient home for a green plant in mid-river, while water rushes all around.

Leaves just beyond the log railing at the observation point collect mist generated by the tumbling water.

A view of the river from trailside.

All around, the forest is filled with the sweet smell of trees, including both conifers (mostly Douglas fir) and a variety of deciduous species.
