Signs of Spring in River Road

Shoot Date: March 2007

Earliest Signs    Our Yard    Early Flowers    Neighborhood 1    Neighborhood 2    More Flowers

Backyard. No leaves yet, but you can see the pinkof a tulip tree blooming in the
yard behind us.  Also note that most of the lawn area is not actually grass at this
point but moss, which grows everywhere in this damp climate.

Tulips bloom in big pots on the back patio.  In the
background you can see the roof of the potting shed.

Rear of the yard.  Behind the moundy bush, and just in front of the rear hedge,
the long row of plants with new,  light green foliage is the raspberry patch, which
I spent a lot of time cleaning out and pruning during our 3-week winter warm spell.

Tiny leaves unfurling on the hazelnut tree

Sun bursts through the clouds after rain, bathing the front yard in yellowy light.
