Two large rocks (one visible at the left of the picture above) attract local birds that gather and squawk en masse above the breaking of the waves on the beach. |

The lightkeeper's house, built circa 1894, and the lighthouse a quarter mile farther up the cliff-side trail, are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Tours of the house are offered during the day; at night the house serves as a bed-and-breakfast. |
